Duke's Story
I have just spent my the last fifteen years with a most incredible Lab. Jake's old body finally wore out on April 23, 2002 but his spirit continues. Jake experienced a twisted stomach when he was ten and survived to live another five years. You can learn about this condition on Jake's Page.
Jake happened to meet Duke on one of his last visits to the Vet's. About two months after his passing I got a call from the Vets asking me if I would like to "adopt" a seven month old puppy. The Kaplan family had originally brought Duke into their family to be a companion to their older Lab but the older dog decided it was a one dog home. I did not plan to get another dog until much later but this was fate. I truly believe that Jake delivered this wonderful dog to our family. Duke became part of our family on June 12, 2002.
